Approval to commence a Direct Award for supported housing services for young adults with learning disabilities aged 18-49 years in new build at Mowbrays Close
We are looking to award an 18 month contract to a care & support provider
via a Direct Award.
The duration of the contract will then allow for the Council to implement a full
procurement exercise and award a new contract to the winning provider
when the 18 month contract ends.
Permission to waive Contract Procedure Rules will be sought separately.

Consultation process
All relevant business partners will be consulted.
We are liaising with a reputable care & support provider who can provide the
mentioned provision under a Direct Award. We are also liaising with the
resident liaison team to ensure the local community are informed of the
decisions being made.
Internally we are liaising with housing, legal, finance, HR and E&D teams.
We are also working with North East London NHS Foundation Trust /NHS colleagues within the Havering integrated team to ensure best practice is discussed and shared.
