LICENSING STATISTICS

The Committee to receive the current Licensing Statistics..

Minutes:

The Committee received the following Licensing statistics for the period ending 31 March 2019.

 

Members were informed that there had been a steady rise in licensed premises in the borough. At the end of March 2017, there were 555 licensed premises, by the end of March 2018, the figure was 564 and as at March 2019, licensed premises have risen to 584.

 

The Committee noted that there were 41 premises with only Late Night Refreshment licences and 12 premises with a 24 hours licence. It was noted that there were three areas with cumulative impact zone.

The report informed that in 2018/2019, 67 applications were received, 51 were granted and 10 were refused. Five applications were received for premises in the Cumulative Impact Zones which were refused.

 

The Committee was informed that Temporary Event Notices (TEN) which was used to make provision for small scale one off events, or situations where Premises Licences do not meet the needs of a particular function on a particular night had seen a gradual reduction.
